Rabbie’s Explore Catalunya Tour

I had the pleasure of participating in one of Rabbie’s tours during my trip to Spain. The tour that I was on is called Montserrat and Cavas Trail.  The tour started at 9:00am and began with a 2 hour bus ride to spectacular Monserrat. The van that was used could comfortably fit 6 people plus the driver.

Once we got to Monserrat, our guide provided us with a bit of background information about the area and then we were left on our own for approximately 3 hours. Our guide did give us ideas for things to do such as hiking trails, choir performances, and lookout points, but I wasn’t expecting this, as their website never mentioned anything about being on your own.  In the end, it was a welcome surprise, as it was very nice to explore the area at my own pace. In the 3 hours that we had to ourselves, I was able to ride the funicular to the top of one of the mountains and also hike up an easy trial to another mountain. I even had a bit of time to spare for some lunch as well.

After meeting back up with the group, we were driven to the Cavas Trail, where we got to explore the cava cellars. We started off by watching a short video about the history of the wine that was produced there and then it was off to the wine cellar for a tour and taste.

We arrived back into Barcelona around 5:30pm. All in all, I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone that’s looking for breath-taking views, culture, and relaxation, but just don’t expect to be taught much about the area by your guide.
