I had heard that many people refer to Mary’s Chicken Burger as the best burger in Sydney, so I knew I had to try it for myself. After a long day of exploring Sydney, I made my way to Mary’s in the CBD and was surprised to see that it was more of a take away restaurant. I had seen pictures of the Newtown location and it was an actual restaurant so I expected the same, but in reality, it was a really small space with only a few chairs.
I grabbed my burger and took it to a nearby park to enjoy and as soon as I opened it up, I was sort of reminded of the amazing burger I had at Betty’s Burgers. The bun looked like the same soft toasted bun that Betty’s uses (and I loved).
Mary’s Chicken Burger lived up to the hype and I loved every single bite. The chicken was deep fried to perfection with the outside being crispy and light and the inside being extremely juicy. It is a simple burger with only a bit of lettuce and some sauce, but it was one of the best burgers I’ve ever had.
