Exploring Wu Jiang Lu 吳江路

Our hotel was close to Nanjing Road and we knew that we wanted to head to Wujianglu to fill our stomachs.  We decided to walk instead of taking the subway as the map showed that it was only one subway stop away.  Well, had we known that this one subway stop was super far and would end up taking us 45 minutes to walk there, I think we would have chosen to take the subway instead.

Wujianglu is supposed to be a street for snack foods in Shanghai but everything we found was higher end.  I was expecting the street to be lined with street vendors but this wasn’t the case at all.  In the end, we ended up having lunch at a noodle house.

Yang’s Pan Fried Buns (小楊生煎館) is a famous chain in Shanghai that I had been hoping to try and people were lined up out the door.

We continued to stroll around Wujianglu for a bit but there really isn’t much to see.  Instead of street vendors it was all shopping complexes, which wasn’t quite as exciting as I had hoped.
