The Ibis Budget Wien Messe is located about a 5 minute walk from Praterstern Metro Station. It is in a very quiet and empty area, so there isn’t too much surrounding the hotel.
One of the reasons I chose this hotel is because of the location. Praterstern is only 2 stops away from Stephansdom and also offers a direct train to the airport.
The room was very basic, but clean, and the front desk staff were very helpful. I didn’t realize that the European adaptor I had brought with me wouldn’t work in Austria, and the front desk lady offered to charge my phone for me with her personal phone cords. Unfortunately, her kind gesture was not enough as the charger she had didn’t seem to work well either. I made my way over to the Ibis Wien next door and thankfully, they lend out adaptors for a €10 deposit, which solved my problem.
If you are looking for a very budget, very basic hotel to stay at in Vienna, then this is a great choice.
