I was lucky enough to be able to meet up with one of my childhood friends who is currently living in San Jose. With her as my guide, she took me to see the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco. Had she not been free that afternoon, I would never even have known about this place.
This Palace of Fine Arts was constructed to display artwork back at the beginning of the century. Nowadays, it also acts as the backdrop of many wedding photos for couples living in the San Francisco area.
We visited on a very gloomy afternoon, but there were still many people walking around the area or resting in the park in front of the Palace.
I think this place would likely be crawling with people on a much nicer day. I can definitely see why many people choose this place to use as the backdrop for their wedding photos. It is quite grand and at times evens reminds me of Europe. A small little pond separated the Palace with a bunch of residential homes.
